Our Meet the Fleet event was a huge success! Visitors enjoyed tours aboard the historic F/V Roann from Mystic, Seaport Museum, live music from Goodnight Louise, crab races, fish printing, fillet demonstrations, buck-a-shuck oysters, and more. This free event was a great opportunity to meet our local fishermen and celebrate our working waterfronts. If you didn't make it this year, be sure to come next year!

Last June, the island lost Luke Gurney, an incredible husband, father, friend, and commercial fisherman. We were honored to have Luke on our Board at the MVFPT and miss him every day.

The Fluke for Luke fishing tournament was created by Luke's friends and. family to celebrate Luke's love of fishing and to support college education for his sons.

The derby will take place from July 8 to 9, 2017. Register at Dick's or Coop's tackle shops. Fee: $30, which all goes to a trust for Luke's son's college education.
